Do not give out personal information such as SS#, Driver Lis #, Account #, Banking Info. Etc
DO NOT ACCEPT A CHECK AND THEN RETURN A PORTION OF THE CHECK TO NIGERIA...ETC
Allow the philanthropist to donate to your paypal account or have them mail you a money order or check(make sure the bank validates the check or money order). Do not accept wire transfers.
If someone wishes to help you, they will do it without strings attached!
"I have received A LOT of persons sending checks for me to cash, I keep a portion & remainder to send somewhere. I stupidly deposited 2 checks, fortunately, I did wait about 10 days for them to clear. Lo and behold.....one was "NSF" the other was "Account Closed". Today, received a check, the local bank informed me it was a forgery!!! Warn others to beware. Accept ONLY money orders, cashiers checks or use the donation at the bottom of plea on your site.Again, Thank you so much."
"We had someone send us $3750 to get us out of losing our house....we deposited it was in money gram money orders.....they wanted us to send them some back...well we did not because the bank put a hold on the money orders....well today the bank withdrew the money and said these moneyorders were no good...we even called the moneygram company and gave them the numbers they said they were good. So the life lesson here is trust no one....we are losing our home We are scared we are honest hard working people and we are hurt!!! Please let people know about this scam"
